Cardio Suite
The cardio suite was completed in April 2018 with matched funds from Sport England.
It was built to compliment other projects running at the centre that help to raise the expectations of people living in the area, give them something to aspire to and promote the idea that anything is possible if you commit.
The suite has been dedicated to the memory of Former Lord Mayor of Hull, Cllr. Nadine Fudge whose support of the Centre made her a fundamental member of the Vulcan Community. She is renowned for her “sheer hard graft”.
Thanks to additional funders the cardio suite houses a sled track, a sled, treadmills, rowers, resistance bikes, ski ergs, a stair-master, an elliptical cross trainer, bumper plates and kettle bells.
Vulcan Strength & Weights Room
The Vulcan Centre Hull has a fully equipped weights room, which has been considerably improved with the help of a Sports England grant. There are four qualified gym instructors and personal trainers that work at the Centre who are available to provide advice and assistance when needed.
The Vulcan Centre specialises in Olympic lifting and functional training and has a wide range of equipment: resistance machines, battle ropes, kettle bells, lifting platforms/cages, prowlers, sledge-hammers, plyometric boxes, resistance bands and much more.
The Vulcan Centre also caters for Strongmen and holds an open session suitable for all levels of ability on Saturdays from 9-12. It has a team of dedicated strongmen, most notably Wayne Stephenson who has achieved significant success at both a regional and national level.
The Centre has a variety of strongman equipment: logs, axles, yokes, circus dumbbells, duck walk, farmers walk, tyres, sleds, sandbags and atlas stones.
Please note that due to Covid-19 there is a booking system and restrictions are in place.

Monday - Friday: 9.00am - 8.30pm
Saturday: 9.00am - 1.30pm
Sunday: 2-00pm - 4.00pm
