Qualifications

The qualifications that we offer are equivalent to BTEC qualifications and allow learners to gain 6-18 credits. Courses require between 60 - 170 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of study. (Usually between 16 - 38 weeks, for a learner attending 2 or more days a week) They are suitable for age 14+. A full qualification is achieved by studying compulsory units in conjunction with optional units.

As the qualifications are vocationally based, they offer the opportunity for learners to achieve a balance of practical skill and theoretical knowledge. Evidence of learning and achievement against all assessment criteria, must be provided, which means practical work is required to be written up.
Learners following our qualifications will have the opportunity to acquire skills in a variety of areas such as:
Nutrition & Performance
Boxing
Cooking
Olympic Weightlifting
Construction
Body Conditioning
Health & Safety in the Workplace
Assertive Living
We also offer the units as standalone awards to give a wider range of learners the opportunity to gain credits.

Functional Skills

To further enhance the progression of our learners they can study and gain qualifications in Functional Skills Maths and Functional Skills English. The total recommended GLH for the Functional Skills qualifications are 45 hours. It is intended that learners will take assessments for the qualifications ‘on demand’, when they are deemed ready.

Functional Skills Maths and English: Learners focus on acquiring skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to progress and succeed in learning, in employment and in life.
